Developing Minds Treatment Center

Warner Robins center leads social skills group for kids with autism

Developing minds respects and understands that autism is a neurophysiological disorder that affects both an individual’s brain functioning and the development of a healthy sense of self. One cannot develop a strong healthy sense of self-based on the accumulation of skills or by simply displaying compliant behavior. We empower and support parents and others so they may construct optimal learning environments wherein they are able to transform their relationship between individuals with autism and the world around them. We’re committed to staying curious. Our team is uniquely qualified to meet the complex and ever changing needs of individuals with autism spectrum disorder and their families. Working directly under Dr Steven Gutstein for the past 6 years as part of the dynamic intelligence development team, we’ve spent time intensively reviewing and understanding the latest research. We put research into practice.

What Is Applied Behavioral Analysis

Applied Behavioral Analysis is an empirically-based discipline devoted to the understanding and improvement of human behavior. ABA focuses on objectively defined, observable behaviors that are of social significance to the learner. It seeks to improve the behavior under study while showing a reliable relationship between the procedures that are employed and the behavioral improvement. ABA uses the methods of science which includes description, quantification, and analysis. Behavior specialist employ a multi-faceted treatment approach to assist your child in recovering from Autism and other developmental disabilities.

Georgia Autism Center Explains The Problem With Autism Spectrum Disorder

The Problems with ASD, Other Neurodevelopmental Disorders or Genetic Conditions

DIFFICULT ASD DIAGNOSIS

Because ASD varies widely in severity, making a diagnosis may be difficult, especially because there is not a specific medical test to determine the disorder. Instead, a variety of tests are utilized that may include cognitive, developmental, social, language, adaptive, and emotional/behavioral functioning.

DISJOINTED RESOURCES

Resources are available to parents, schools, medical professionals, and community members. Broad resources are easy to find, but it takes a tremendous amount of time to sort through each one to determine what steps to take on your child’s path to treatment.

LACK OF CONTINUUM

OF CARE

Once you find the resources you need, it’s a stop and go process – find a practitioner who can help with treatment, get an IEP, work with the school on programming, figure out what financial assistance is available. As your child moves into young adulthood and on to adulthood, what comes next? Who will be there to help as your child grows up?

HOW CAN GAC HELP?

Georgia Autism Center provides assessment, diagnosis, coordination of care, educational planning or assistance with the development of IEPs, and support for families of children with special needs.

Assessment

What Is Biomedical Treatment Of Autism

Macon Autism Therapy Center

Autism is a biological disease, not a psychiatric one. We treat Autism by first identifying, then aiding and supplementing the malfunctioning metabolic pathways in your child’s body. Our motto is “Remove, Replenish, and Repair!”

First, we REMOVE harmful elements from environment and diet. Next, we REPLENISH the body with the deficient nutrients, enzymes, essential fatty acids and protective gut flora. Then, we REPAIR the malfunctioning biochemistry, detoxification pathways, and immune system.

Diagnosis & Evaluations

Early identification of autism is the first step to effective intervention. In addition to therapy, Hopebridge provides diagnostic assessments, as well as ABA, OT and speech evaluations to get the answers your family needs to set the stage at a young age.

ABA Therapy

Applied Behavior Analysis is the basis of Hopebridge’s comprehensive 1-on-1 therapy. By using these targeted techniques and principles of learning in collaboration with other therapies, we influence significant, positive change and independence.

Occupational Therapy

The beauty of pediatric OT is that it teaches kids through what they love most – playtime! Hopebridge creates fun and supportive environments to address sensory, cognitive, perceptual and fine motor skills, including self-care and handwriting.

How Will A Gluten Free & Casien Free Diet Help My Family Member

Warner Robins, Georgia seniors enjoy a dose of equine therapy

Gluten and casein free diets, and other special diets are used by many physicians in the treatment of Autism. One of the first steps of any of our treatment programs is “cleaning up the gut!” Dr. Duke seeks to REMOVE what is harmful to the body, including sugars, junk food, and preservatives. We advocate for an organic diet.
