Talent Recap Predicted Kodi Lee As The Winner

Kodi Lee: Blind Autistic Singer WOWS And Gets GOLDEN BUZZER! | America’s Got Talent 2019

We already published this as our prediction, all this week I thought V Unbeatables momentum may have grown just enough to grab the win, but last night it quickly became clear that victory is firmly in Kodis grasp. Kodi wont be a bad winner by any means, its just a little underwhelming that something as simple as the running order the acts performed in took away the suspense of what could have been a nail-biting finale.

Kodis Whole Family Supports His Rock Star Dreams

Backstage at AGT, Kodi has the support of his parents and two siblings, Kayla and Derek. And whether Kodi becomes a rock star or not, his mother Tina Lee credits music for helping him triumph over autism. She said, He has all these talents, but he has trouble communicating. He used to tantrum like 30 times a day. After he started performing, he got it. It really helped us to get his autism under control. He wants to be an entertainer.

As Kodis star continues to shine Tina Lee said, Kodi has been preparing for this day all his life. He works so hard every day on getting better and constantly improving. He worked diligently with his vocal coach Nonie Hilgesen to make sure his audition would be at his best. And honestly, Kodi is ready to go all the time and in his words HECK YEAH!’

Ed Yeates reportingAn 11-year-old boy in Tooele was born with multiple disabilities. They’re so profound, he can’t even do simple things. Yet, despite all the mis-wiring in his brain, he’s a genius.

It takes years to become a polished musician, one who can make the keys talk and talk well. But for Kodi Lee, it just happened naturally, like turning on a switch.

Kodi can’t dress himself without help from his brother, Derek. He’s legally blind, reading from braille or massive print held against his eyes, and he reads only at a first- or second-grade level.

He’s autistic, hyperactive and emotionally reactive. He’s learned how to breathe to control crying spells, but put him in front of a keyboard, and Kodi turns into a genius – what researchers call a musical savant. No books, no teaching, all natural, from a part of his brain that dishes out reams of music.

Tina said, “The minute you put him on stage, it’s like he turns a hat and he’s a professional.”

Without notice, we threw everything at him, asking him to play Star Wars, then the background music from Spiderman. We had to stop him or he would have played it all!

Hes A True Musical Savant & Is Also A Great Tap Dancer

Dr. Darold Treffert, a psychiatrist in Wisconsin who has studied Savant Syndrome for more than 50 years, and was the medical consultant on Dustin Hoffmans Oscar-winning turn in Rain Man told The Press Enterprise, does fit the definition of a prodigious musical savant. Ive been following his career a bit. He is blind and has been given a diagnosis of autism. Yet, he has this spectacular musical ability.

As if being able to play six instruments and sing wasnt enough, Kodi also started tap lessons at Temecula Dance Company, and naturally, hes great at it. Kodi calls the dance studio his happy place and has posted on Instagram videos of himself both tapping and singing at the same time.

The Judges Gushed And Gabrielle Union Surprised Kodi With Her First Golden Buzzer Award

Blind, Autistic Kodi Lee Wows

“What just happened there was extraordinary,” said judge Simon Cowell. “I’m going to remember this moment for the rest of my life.”

Gabrielle Union is a new America’s Got Talent judge, and she’s never hit the Golden Buzzer button, which advances a contestant straight through to the finals.

“I’m a new judge this season,” she told Kodi and Tina, who had rejoined her son onstage, “and I’m also a new mom this year. And it’s the toughest job I’ve ever had, and the most rewarding job I’ve ever had. You just want to give your kids the moon, the stars, and the rainbows. And tonight, I’m going to give you something special.”

She hit the Golden Buzzer, gold confetti rained down on Kodi and his mom, and everyone celebrated with unbridled glee.

Seriously, watch the whole clip and tell me it doesn’t make your whole day:

Walking into the supermarket these days is more anxiety-inducing than it has been for decades. Shoppers are now taking second looks at the prices of everyday items before dropping them into their carts to make sure they havent skyrocketed since their last trip to the store.

The meat and dairy aisles have been especially daunting. Over the past year in the United States, the average price of eggs has gone up 11.6% and chicken is up nearly 9%.

Kodi Lee, 22, used a cane to help him navigate the America’s Got Talent stage as he held onto his mother’s arm. He told the judges his name and age, and his mother, Tina, explained that he is blind and has autism.

Kodi connected with music in early childhood, Tina said. “He listened, and his eyes just went huge, and he started singing,” she told the judges. “I realized he’s an entertainer. Through music and performing, he was able to withstand living in this world, because when you’re autistic, it’s really hard to do what everybody else does. It actually saved his life playing music.”

His mother escorted him to the piano and quietly told him, “This is your time, okay? There’s going to be like 20 cameras on you. Ready?”

My reaction is I am plainly proud of him, Kodis mom Tina Lee told Parade.com on the red carpet after his last performance. He has worked so hard and I have seen him turn it, he like flips the hat over. He just sucked in that audience. When I watch him do that, its magical. He just blows you away.
